A quarter of a century ago, with a handful of volunteers, Phyllis Mervine launched the organization that is now known as LymeDisease.org. Our first issue of The Lyme Times was two legal-sized pieces of paper photocopied and stapled together. Since then, it has grown into a highly regarded quarterly journal, addressing concerns of patients, physicians, parents, educators and health care policy makers.
The Lyme Times provides information about a wide variety of subjects related to Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, with contributions from treating physicians, researchers, advocates and Lyme patients. It encompasses such topics as different treatment approaches, new developments in research, the politics of Lyme, how to navigate the insurance maze, how Lyme disease affects children and personal stories of people with Lyme disease.
As new issues are published, the number of those available for online reading will grow.
LymeDisease.org is a non-profit
501(c)(3) that serves the patient community through advocacy, education and research.
