A commitment to educating about tick bite prevention
LymeDisease.org recently received an unexpected donation—$4886 from Greenix Pest Control. Headquartered in Utah, the company serves clients in 15 states, generally in the eastern half of the country.
The amount Greenix sent us was a percentage of all their tick, flea, and mosquito package sales from the month of May, in honor of Lyme Disease Awareness Month. A nice surprise!
I called Greenix to thank them for their generosity and find out a bit about their company.
My first question: what exactly is a “tick, flea, and mosquito package”?
Turns out it’s a bundle of services to control those pests around your house and yard. It includes a robust inspection, treatment with a pesticide that has “minimum toxicity,” and a targeted approach to your property’s particular hotspots.
Furthermore, according to company spokesman Joey Mcvey, Greenix aims to provide “one step beyond pest control,” and works to educate their clients about protecting themselves from ticks and other pests.
We are encouraged to know that Greenix shares our commitment to teaching people how to protect themselves from tick-borne disease. And we heartily thank them for this donation in support of our efforts to do exactly that.
