DESCRIPTION:The Guilderland Garden Club will host an informational seminar on the topic of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases on Saturday\, May 4. It will be held at the Farnsworth Middle School at 6072 State Farm Road\, from 1 to 4 p.m. \nAmong several topics discussed will be emerging research and new clinical findings that are expanding understanding of this highly complex and difficult illness. \nGuest speakers will include:\n— Professor Holly Ahern\, microbiologist at SUNY Adirondack\, a State University of New York Community College\, co-founder and vice president of the Lyme Action Network; \n— Christina Fisk\, co-founder and president of the Lyme Action Network; \n— Jennifer Baer\, nurse practitioner and Lyme disease specialist; \n— Joellen Lampman\, community integrated pest management extension specialist at the New York State Integrated Pest Management Program\, Cornell University; \n— Linda Reeves\, a patient and advocate and Guilderland Garden Club member. \nThe first 100 guests will receive a tick-removal kit.
