We Don't Sit in the Grass Anymore, by Diane Wilcox, PhD, is a true story told from a young child’s perspective. Lyme in Rhyme, written by Geri Rodda, RN, a nurse working at the New Milford, CT, health department, is a colorfully illustrated, 32-page book for children. Children will learn tick facts and how to avoid catching Lyme disease by hearing or reading the rhyming story. The book treats this scary subject gently, but doesn’t cheat on giving important information on how to prevent and detect Lyme disease. The book has been praised by C. Ben Beard, the chief of vector borne disease at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Michael Crespan, Director of Health, New Milford, CT. Softcover only.
