Human Race

Every spring, CALDA participates in the Marin Human Race, a giant fundraising event for over 100 nonprofits. The event is a PR opportunity for CALDA and educational for the whole community. People participate by asking friends and family for pledges for their run/walk/roll around a 5K course at the Marin Center Fairgrounds. We wear our CALDA T-shirts and carry signs and a big banner. Lots of people notice the “Lyme people.” Even if you can’t attend, you can raise funds for CALDA.

In 2007 CALDA won a prize for collecting the highest dollar amount of donations - over $25,000.00! The CALDA booth was busy all morning as we handed out Lyme Times, brochures, tick removers, tick spray and talked to scores of people.

Run/Walk/Roll, cheer from the side, or come to enjoy all of the following:

• PANCAKE BREAKFAST
• Over a dozen local bands and performing groups
• Free refreshments, prizes, and giveaways
• Kid Races with free registration (12 and under)
• Costume Contests!
• Community Fair with games and activities (over 100 booths!)
• Family Fun Fair with giant inflatable playland
